If you keep this principle in mind it becomes a great source of strength, peace of mind and positive attitude. It means a few different things to me, but mostly that (1) we grow by continually striving, not necessarily by reaching every goal; and (2) your expectations often do not match the outcome of every step you take along the way, but taking the step brings new opportunities and lessons. Encountering an obstacle you did not expect often requires you to develop solutions that serve you well in the long run. I have adopted this in almost all aspects of my life and keep it posted for my family to see each day.
