Melissa Mosher, Ronkonkoma, NY - Sharing positivity bracelets

I was given a positivity bracelet by a dear friend of mine when I was struggling to stay positive. The packet came with three bracelets. Not knowing why it came with three I gave my friend and a close teacher that was retiring a bracelet. Well when I read that the bracelet is meant to be handed out I bought more bracelets. Over the past few months, my roommate and I have been handing out bracelets.
About a month or so ago a woman that I work with looked at me and said "I'm trying to stay positive"; I took off my bracelet, gave it to her and said "maybe this will help!" She and I have formed a bond from that point on.
I work in a school with emotionally disturbed HS girls. Last Thursday we had a Community Council meeting and one student brought up bracelets that The GAP gave us to give out for "catch me being good". I took off my bracelet and discussed with the council as well as the Director of the school the philosophy behind my positivity bracelet and how it puts smiles on the people receiving it. The bottom line is the Community Council of our school loved the idea, and would love to purchase a bulk of these bracelets to change the attitude of the school to be more positive. ... THANK YOU for coming up with this idea. I hope to write more stories about how you changed our school!!!
